Mentorship
A good Mentor will support you in practice to learn and practice safely. Developing a good relationship with your mentor also goes a long way towards ensuring you both gain something from your professional relationships. Mentor are ready to learn and train others. Mentors’ self-assess own competence in mentoring nursing students and qualified nurses in clinical practice.
Qualities
Mentors need to have various personal and professional characteristics including, reflective, confidence, possessing relevant knowledge and skills, emotional intelligence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitudes, values, motivation, investor, involvement, lifelong learner, and sharing knowledge, self-assurance, problem-solving abilities, provides feedback, committed, non-prejudice or discriminating, empathetic etc.
