Our Mission
Our mission is to connect and engage with all Lagos State trained nurses and midwives including public health nurses, to develop an enhancing life-long relation, through a range of professional activities, networking forums for promoting educational programmes, awards, social, and benevolent events. Thus, providing Alumni with the opportunity for growth, improving practice, maintaining professional network for career, and self-development.
Our Alumni Association
LSSNMAIA helps graduates stay in touch with peers, focus group and professional interests to be more conversant with latest evidence and to maintain self-development information about the industry. We encourage members to join online webinars offering support and advice. Also, building sustainable, and valuable links, and collaborating with other medical and allied health and social care professionals, community groups, and institutions in delivering our programmes.
Alumni Give Back
This program encourages member participation, delivery, and contribution to scientific programs, providing leadership, preceptorship, and mentoring. At LSSNMAIA, we promote active leadership initiatives where new and experienced nurses and midwives become mentors, they endeavour to stay connected with members, as they progress in their careers, supporting juniors, new graduates and those needing support at work.
Membership
Membership of LSSNMAIA is open to Lagos State trained nurses. Our members include those in and out of active duty, and other approved associates including medical and allied health professionals. Undergraduate Student Support Team may apply or nominate verified students for membership, and internship. Students may attend educational programs, and social events, network with other members online and access articles. Other volunteers with no link to any of the institutions may be recruited to support LSSNMAIA’s event. Membership fee may be applicable to support the running of the local operation office and other demands.
In 2019, LSSNMAIA was adopted as the Umbrella Body for Lagos State trained nurses, midwives and public health nurses, associations and groups
New graduate program
If you are a new paid-up graduate member of LSSNMAIA, you can informally meet with senior and experienced alumni practitioners who will act as an informal mentor for your career.
If you are interested in finding a mentor near you, then contact alumni services administrator with your requests. You will be contacted you to discuss your needs and match you with a suitable mentor.
Contact alumni affair administrator if you are interested in becoming a mentor or preceptor or need either, and if you wish to serve LSSNMAIA.
